synopsis

Sudanese henna painter Halima goes to Basma's, a young Egyptian bride, to prepare her for her wedding: under the eyes of her daughter Ward, the encounter between the two women grows from complicity to suddenly unveiled tensions.

Morad Mostafa, an Egyptian director, studied film directing in Cinema Palace in 2008 and other filmmaking workshops. He has worked in the filmmaking industry since 2010 as an assistant director with directors Mohamed Diab, Hala Khalil, and Sherif Elbendary. He directed his first short film "Ward's Henna Party" in 2019 which premiered at Clermont Ferrand 2020.
